Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about safety, enrollment, and our daily operations at Lyrics Daycare in San Diego.
Safety & Policies
What safety protocols and certifications does Lyrics Daycare have?
Our facility maintains the highest safety standards, including secure entry systems, regular safety drills, and staff certified in pediatric CPR and First Aid. We follow all California licensing requirements and conduct daily health screenings.
What is your policy for sick children?
To protect all children and staff, we ask that children with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illnesses stay home until symptom-free for 24 hours without medication. We have a dedicated isolation area and strict hygiene protocols to minimize illness spread.
How do you handle extreme heat or poor air quality days?
Our facility is climate-controlled with air filtration systems. During extreme heat or poor air quality, we limit outdoor activities and provide indoor alternatives. We ensure children stay hydrated and monitor for any signs of heat-related stress.
Enrollment & Operations
What is the enrollment process and requirements?
Enrollment begins with a tour or open house visit. We require completed registration forms, current immunization records, and a health assessment. We offer both full-time and part-time options to accommodate different family needs.
What are your hours of operation and availability?
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We offer flexible scheduling and accommodate early drop-off or late pick-up when arranged in advance. Please call us for current availability in specific age groups.
What is your caregiver-to-child ratio?
We maintain ratios better than California state requirements: 1:4 for infants, 1:6 for toddlers, and 1:10 for preschoolers. This ensures each child receives individual attention and quality care throughout their day.
